Robert Austin Cho has recently opened his newest restaurant, Austin Cho Kitchen in Hackensack, NJ. From the moment I saw the first post on his Instagram page, I knew I had to try this place. Well, today was the day. And I was not disappointed. It is a very small location, jampacked with a sensory overload of the amazing food that's being cooked there. Not sure what I should order, I decided to go with the classic: AUSTIN CHO 1.0 (BEST SELLER!) which is simply Beef Brisket, BBQ Sauce, Kimchi, Remoulade on Roll that was accompanied by Kimchi Slaw. I asked @robertaustincho what I should order the next time I visit, and he highly suggested the pork belly and rice. Looking forward to the next time I visit Yum. 163B Main St, Hackensack, NJ Check them out @austinchokitchen

Thank goodness Robert has opened a new place. I haven't been able to get to the Ridgewood location so it's been WAAAY too long. I picked up some brisket, pork belly, pastrami, and Brussels Sprouts on Friday. I had the pastrami on rye with Swiss and mustard on Friday, and today I had the brisket and Brussels sprouts. (I did re-package everything in glass containers to keep it ultra fresh.) Gotta tell ya, this is the real deal. Pastrami was spot on (not Katz's but wonderful in its own way.) But the brisket...oh...my...God! Homer Simpson ahhh, complete with drool! Perfectly tender and fatty (but not too fatty) the way it should be. I had it with and without the included BBQ sauce, and both were wonderful. Brussels sprouts with gochu glaze and remoulade: fantastic! Who thinks of these things? (Robert, of course.) Got my eye on you pork belly!...as soon as my tummy can handle it. Time for a nap.

Came back a second time and I had the empanadas of the day which were brisket and a pork belly rice bowl. The empanadas are stellar! Big, not greasy and packed withmeaty deliciousness. The pork belly bowl is outstanding with lots of flavors, textures and temperature. An excellent option to taste his creativity if you don't want a sandwich.

While I was said to see Kimchi Smoke go away I was thrilled that Chef Austin Cho opened a new place. Although a bit far from home I ordered online and made the journey to Austin Cho Kitchen. It's a tiny storefront where you can see the man himself cooking away. Very friendly service. Easy online ordering and it was ready when I got there. We got the Brussels sprouts (outstanding), French fries, Cajun fries, and kimchi. All good but I'd go regular fries over Cajun next time. We got the pork belly xxx sandwich which was fantastic. We also got the brisket Sammie and the pulled pork sandwich. They were both delicious. The quality of the meat and the fresh veggies and sauces are simply the best. Wish it was closer but I will be back for sure. Limited seating on stools inside but I want to eat in so I can get a Cho nut. Love the chef and his cooking rocks. Street parking available. Must try in my book.
